Statistics from Summer Night Hawk Matches
Longbenton & Seaton Burn Sea Angling Club fish 12 Summer Night Hawk Matches between March and August. Two matches per month, fished at 3 different locations. Pottery Bank, Copthorne Hotel and British Airways Car Park. Matches are 4 hours long fished between 18:45 and 22:45. Matches are fished straight length, all fish count. No minimum size for fish. Eels are recorded as a straight 30cm. A Maximum of 3 Eels can be recorded. Mackerel and Herring are a maximum of 3 recorded. Once 3 of each species are on your card, the 4th fish does not count.
22 Club members fished at least 1 match. Full League Table
583 fish were caught over the 12 matches. 339 Flounder, 136 Codling, 68 Whiting, 49 Eels, 2 Dabs and 2 Smelt. Not one coalfish was recorded. The biggest surprise, NOT ONE COALFISH!!! Fish do not even have to be of any size, not one coalfish has been caught out of 583 fish.
