Summer Night Hawks Matches

Twelve matches in total.  Two pegged matches per month in the River Tyne from March to August.  Matches are fished over three locations.  Four matches at each Vennue.

Summer Night Hawks Matches

Matches are straight length measure matches.  All fish count (no minimum size) or restrictions on hook size.  Maximum of 3 hooks, trebble hook counts as 3 hooks. 

Members recieve 10 points for first place, second place recieves 9 points, 3rd 8pts, 4th 7pts, 5th 6pts, 6th 5pts, 7th 4pts, 8th 3pts, 9th 2pts, 10th 1pt.  All members who fish recieve 1pt, even if they have blanked.  Longest fish on the night recieves a further 5 points. 

British Airways

Directions:  NE4 7YA, the vennue is a left hand turn off William Armstrong Drive.  

Parking:  Two car parking spaces before British Airways private car park.  The rest of the parking is on the roadside before the barrier.  

Vennue:  Easy access, fishing from the promenade.  Best fished on the flood on larger tides.   Clean Ground.  

Species:  Mainly Flounder and Eels.  Small codling, whiting and coalfish on bigger tides.  The occasional smelt.  

Copthorne

Directions:  NE4 7YA, the vennue is a left hand turn off William Armstrong Drive.  

Parking:  NE1 3PN Forth Banks Car Park.  08:00 – 19:00 80p per hour.  Free from 19:00.  

Vennue:  Easy access, fishing from the promenade.  Clean ground with odd bit of debris.  Best fished on medium to large tides on the flood. 

Species:  Mainly Flounder and Eels.  Small codling, whiting and coalfish on bigger tides.  The occasional smelt.  

Pottery Bank

Directions:  NE6 3RU, should take you to the top of the road which you drive down to the river.   

Parking: Parking is available next to your pegs.    Approximately 20 spaces. 

Vennue:  Easy access, fishing from the promenade.  Fairy clean with the odd snag, more toward the down river end of the venue.  Best fished on the flood.  

Species:  Mainly Codling, whiting, Flounder, Coalfish, Eels.
