Summer Night Hawks Matches
2 pegged matches per month in the river Tyne over the months March to August. Matches are fished at three locations, four matches at each, British Airways, Copthorne and Smokehouses (Pottery Bank may be used if over 12 members are expected to fish the match. Smokehouse can cater for approximately 15 anglers, providing no pleasure anglers are fishing).
Registration 18:15 – 18:30. Peg Draw 18:30. If you are running late, please contact a club committee member who will draw a peg for you.
Fishing times 18:45 – 22:45.
Matches are straight length measure matches. All fish count (no minimum size fish) or restrictions on hook size. Maximum of 3 hooks as per club rules, treble counts as 3 hooks.
Eels are a straight 30cm. Maximum of 3 Eels, 3 Mackerel and 3 Herring per match. If 3 are recorded on card, 4th fish does not count.
Members receive 10 points for 1st place, 2nd receives 9 points, 3rd 8 pts, 4th, 7 pts, 5th 6 pts, 6th 5 pts, 7th 4 pts, 8th 3 pts, 9th 2 pts, 10th 1 pts. All members who register to fish receive 1 point, even if they have blanked. Longest fish on the night receives a further 5 points

Directions: NE4 7YA. British Airways is off William Armstrong Drive.
Parking: 2 spaces before the Car Park. The rest of the parking is on the roadside before the Barrier to the BA Car Park. Best fished on bigger tides on the flood.
Venue: Clean ground.
Species: Mainly a flounder and eels. Small codling, whiting and coalfish usually on bigger tides.
