Tynemouth Pier Matches – Saturday League
One Saturday League Match per month on Tynemouth Pier or members can go roving if they wish. Matches are currently Roving as the Pier is closed due to storm damage and vandalism.
Registration 08:15 – 08:30. Peg Draw 08:30. Tynemouth Pier Gates if Pier is open or Priors Haven Car Park if Pier is not open. NE30 4DB. As you pass the small Bridge take a right into car park, rather than a left to go down to the Sailing Club and the Haven.
If fishing the pier. You can decide to draw a peg at the end of the pier or fish the free zone. 2 pegs back from the last peg.
Fishing Times Summer and Spring 09:00 – 15:45. You need to be off the pier by 16:00. You need to be at the pier gates by 16:00 if fishing the free zone, pegs or roving.
Fishing times Winter and Autumn 09:00 – 14:45. You need to be off the pier by 15:00. You need to be at the pier gates by 15:00 if fishing the free zone, pegs or roving.
Matches are fished to LSBSAC Minimum Fish Sizes. If fishing a peg with a committee member present, fish may be weighed, recorded and returned straight away. If fishing the free zone on the pier near a member of the committee, fish can be weighed, recorded and returned straight away. Maximum of 3 eels (committee member must be present to weigh and return straight away) otherwise eels cannot be weighed in. Maximum 3 Mackerel and 3 Herring to be weighed in.
Members receive 10 points for first place, 2nd 9 pts, 3rd 8 pts, 4th, 7 pts, 5th 6 pts, 6th 5 pts, 7th 4 pts, 8th 3 pts, 9th 2 pts, 10th 1 pt. All members who register to fish receive 1 point, even if they have blanked. Longest fish on the day receives a further 5 points
