Beach Pegged Match – Sat 20th January – Middle Toilets Blyth Beach

Beach Pegged Match – Sat 20th January – Middle Toilets Blyth Beach NE26 4JZ Links Road Car Park.

This match is a Saturday League match and points will count towards the Saturday League and Club Championship.  The Beach will be pegged, both he left and right side of the beach entrance.  The Match will be Length to points conversion, using a SAMF (Dec 2022 Conversion chart).  These will be issued if any members do not have one.  Most club members should have one from last year.

In the event of bad weather and the beach looks unfishable the match will be moved to the River Tyne.  24 hours notice will be given if this is the case.

Registration/Pegs Drawn – 17:30 – 18:00.

Optional Cash Match – £10 to enter the sweeps

This will be an optional cash match.  If members do not want to enter the sweeps and just fish the match, this is fine and members will earn points as per normal towards the Saturday League and Club Championship.  If members wish to enter the Sweeps, this will be £10 and payout will depend on the number of anglers fishing the match.  If a member does not enter the sweeps and comes first or has heaviest fish.  The money will go to the angler 2 who has entered the sweeps.

Match Rules for the LBSAC Match

All fish to be measured on a measure down to the nearest cm.

Fish must be placed in a bucket and taken to the adjacent angler to be measured, witnessed and recorded on the match card, then gently returned immediately in front of the witness.

Sized fish being retained by the angler to be taken home to eat, must be scored on the tail, either with a knife or scissors.

Fish length, points and running total must be recorded and signed by the adjacent angler before the next cast is retrieved. (Catch a fish, place it in your bucket, cast out. Then take the fish to the angler next to you before you are allowed to reel in again).

At the end of the match all match cards must be signed off by the adjacent angler. Last fish, total points, largest 2 fish (points) and largest flatfish (points) are to be recorded and signed off by adjacent angler.

All anglers are stewards in the match.

All fish will count in LSBSAC match. All Species of fish will count and if not listed, will come under the Unspecified category on card. SAMF cards start at 18cm.  In our match all fish will count. Any fish under 18cm will be worth 1 point. So if you catch 3 fish under 18cm, you will have 3 points.

Match will be 3 hooks as per normal club rules.
